Due to increase of highway users, Projek Lebuhraya Usahama Berhad (PLUS) decided to upgrading their public facilities to give a better experience for the users, For the Sungai Petani Utara Toll Plaza, the upgrading works involve public toilet and public surau.
For the public toilet, some internal fittings have been rearangged to give a fresh and modern looks. This also to improve the existing circulation and ventilation.
The public surau building is designed to be elevated due to water-logged site. The building is oriented to face qiblat to maximize room space. Building elements such as vertical louvers and high level opening provide good ventilation and comfortable ambients.
